Local NFL star rushed to hospital after being stabbed!

When I saw that headline i just assumed he had gotten robbed. But that was not the case...
Apparently Brandon Marshall, a receiver for the Miami Dolphins was stabbed by his wife Michi Nagomi-Marshall last night. The newly-weds had conflicting stories about what occurred. He told police that he fell on a vase while his wife said that she had stabbed him but in self defense. (She is currently in custody at the Broward County jail on a $75,000 bond.)
But the real "tea" is that Brandon has had domestic issues in the past with his former girlfriend and even got suspended for the remainder of the season for “violating the league’s personal conduct policy”. This story is just sad on all accounts! I guess looks can be deceiving! The seem so happy together in their wedding picture. With that said domestic violence is NEVER okay, please seek help if you are in an abusive relationship before someone ends up hurt, in jail or even dead.

"Toya: A Family Affair" is a new show starring one half of BET's hit show "Tiny and Toya". For those of you who have been living under a rock, Antonia Carter AKA Toya is the ex-wife of famous rapper Dwayne Carter AKA Lil Wayne. The rumor was that T.I. (another well known rapper), Tiny's man - didn't want his family featured on the show (Tiny and Toya) anymore, so BET came up with a spinoff show instead.

I love Toya, she is a beautiful girl who seems to have her head on straight. The show started last Tuesday and it did not disappoint. Not only is it entertaining but it is heartwarming too! I was glad to see her and all her siblings together in New Orleans to see their mother off to rehab after being an addict for over 20 years. Not only that but Toya is in love with her boyfriend of 1 year MempHitz. I'm so happy for her, after all she has been through she deserves LOVE. Toya is handling her business! Keep up the good work girl....I'm watching (along with 1.5 million other viewers)! Check out the show every Tuesday at 10pm on BET.

Entree vs. Side (No you don't need both to have a "complete" meal!)

Entree v. side? No this is not a food blog...lol. Over the last couple weeks there has been some talk about relationships and who has things better. First there is the "main" or "wifey" or the woman who is considered to be in a validated relationship with the man.What is a validated relationship? People know that person to be your significant other, they attend family functions with you, you have their picture on our desk or cubicle at work etc. The "side" or "jumpoff" is the other woman in your life that you spend time with but your family has never met them and your overall relationship is a secret.

It is said that the side girl has it better than the main girl because she has to deal with less heartache. I'm on the fence with that because yes the side doesn't have to worry about where her "man" is. But it has to be difficult to know your "man" is going home to someone else or that on holidays he will not be with you. If he dies tomorrow no one will call you. It takes a strong woman to deal with that. I feel like the side knows too much. The wife is oblivious most of the time and has no idea what is going on. If her and the side were in the same place the side can pick her out right away while the wife just sees her as another complete stranger. Even with all the perks of being wifey being on the side seems "more fun" - the man spends more time with you and sometimes more money too! I wish things were different but they aren't.

I'm at a point in my life where i cannot and will not be the woman on the side - at least not knowingly. I want my own man complete with all the heartache and pain that comes with being in love. Whenever I think about this subject I remember a line in one of Fabolous' songs where says "stick with your entree and get over your side". So that is my advise for men. I understand its like 8 to 10 women for every one man but try to think about your sisters, daughters and mothers, etc. when you are out there playing the field. There are way too many single ladies that are also single mothers because men want to have their cake and eat it too. This problem is a huge in "our" community. So to all the men who take care of their women and are overall good men.....KUDOS YOU ARE A DYING BREED!!!

Jumping the Broom in Theatres May 6, 2011.

This movie stars Angela Bassett, Paula Patton, Laz Alonzo, Mike Epps, Meagan Good, Tasha Smith, Loretta Devine and others, The movie is about a wedding that brings 2 families from different walks of life together. The groom's family (The Taylors) are from a modest background while the bride's family (The Watsons) are more affulent. There is some conflict because the Taylors feel the Watsons think they are better than them and it seems that the groom had kept the families from meeting before the wedding which makes things alot more awkward. From seeing the trailer, I can tell that this movie is going to be hilarious! Definitely a must see!

Life After Loss

So Mashonda is covering the King Magazine April/May issue. From the waist up she looks spectacular! The bottom half looks a bit photo shopped to me. But overall she looks great. She was in NYC celebrating her cover in this beautiful sequins dress with gold pumps. After all the drama with her and Swizz Beatz its great to see her doing her thing. I respect a woman who stays on her grind. Hopefully all this publicity will help her back into the spotlight as "Mashonda" the artist/businesswoman and not just a producer's ex-wife. Shout out to her and her team because she stays on point, he is a very attractive woman!

Dear Amber

I'm sure we have all heard about Amber Rose aka Amber Mitchell by now. But exactly who is she? The 27 year old vixen has been linked to Reggie Bush, Amare Stoudemire, Kanye West and now Wiz Khalifa. I never heard of the woman until Kanye started bringing her everywhere he went. She is definitely a show stopper and everyone wanted to know who she was. So that is how she came into the spotlight....by being Kanye's arm piece/girlfriend. With all that said, I gotta give it to the girl! *round of applause* Not only is she beautiful but it seems she has something going on upstairs too. Not only is she a pretty face with a great body- she is a brand. She is signed with prestigious Ford Models and has made various cameos in the music videos and reality shows. I believe she even has as eyewear line in the works. I never really thought very much of her until this past week, when Wiz Khalifa is all over MTV, BET and the radio talking about his relationship with her. He even got "Amb" tattooed on his hand! How is it that this model has been in so many "high profile" relationships while everyday girls out here are struggling just to find 1 decent man? Amber please tell us what it is that you do! What are you doing to these men? And can you teach me?...oops I meant us! (lol)

I'm going to put together a round table traveling seminar for ladies. Some people I would have as "keynote" speakers? Amber Rose, Karrine Steffans and Evelyn Lozada to start. I know I know....They are questionable individuals but women can learn a lot from them because they are obiviously doing "SOMETHING" right! Who's coming???
