Born 09/23/1989, Brandon signed at $1.65 million with European team, Lottomatica Roma at the age of 19 as well as a $2 million contract with Under Armour. This young man is well on his way, so ladies look out for him.

Miami Fashion Week 2011

Bored on the weekends and looking for something fabulous to do? We are only a couple weeks away from the 13th Annual Miami Beach International Fashion week. The event takes place at the Miami Beach Convention Center from March 3rd-6th, 2011. It will include fashion shows, live performances, great food and an awards show. Another great event of the weekend is the 4th Annual Student Designer Competition featuring students for all over the world. Tickets will run you anywhere from $25 to $500 for VIPs, so the frugalistas can definitely afford this one! What's your "Number"? (This one is for the Ladies)

I was recently having a conversation with a girlfriend of mine and she asked whether I still count the number of partners I have had or is that something you do when you're young? That was a good question which fueled several minutes of in depth conversation. We all know of the double standard: Men can have a million partners and it is praised by the masses.....Women on the other hand, its a different story. We are considered slutty, "loose" and/or promiscuous. Because of that many of us have had to adapt in order to survive in this "Man's World". My friend and I decided that unless you are a very good girl, newbie to sex or a prude, you have lied about the "number" of partners you have had. (If you don't agree, just remember this is my OPINION.) Okay maybe "lied" is too strong and "omitted the truth" might work better, either one works just fine for me. In any case we spoke about several ways of "calculating" your Number.

Here is what we came up with:


1. If you are under 18 you should still be able to name/tabulate how many with no problems.

2. Over 18?

- You can round off your "actual" number. (if you remember it...lol)

- Come up with what you think is an "acceptable" amount for your age range and stick to that number for a while.

- Start with the age you lost your "innocence" and add 2 partners for each year since then that you were single.

- Start with your "actual" number and subtract all of the following: 1 night stands, waste of times, bad performers and wish you never mets.

- Use your "actual" number and embrace it like Samantha from Sex and the city.

An addition to Bravo's "The Real Housewives of..." empire. THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF MIAMI. Yeaaaa, I'm so excited! Finally our city is part of one of my favorite reality shows. I just hope they do the city justice and make all of us proud. I love Orange County, Beverly Hills, Atlanta, New York and even New Jersey housewives but I definitely have a soft spot for my "home team". The series is set to premiere on Tuesday, February 22nd at 10pm.

The series will be based on the lives of 6 Miami ladies:

- Larsa Pippen, wife of Ex-NBA baller Scottie Pippen.
- Lea Black, wife of top Defense Attorney Roy Black.
- Marysol Patton, divorced owner of premiere PR firm The Patton Group.
- Adriana DeMoura-Sidi, divorced art curator.
- Alexia Echevarria, married Executive Editor of Venue Magazine.
- Cristy Rice, ex-wife of NBA baller Glen Rice and local business owner.

*My only complaint is that with a melting pot of a city like Miami, I would think the cast would be more culturally diverse.

Super Bowl Wrap-up

Okay so the Packers won! CONGRATULATIONS TO THE 2011 CHAMPS!

The Half time show with The Black Eyed Peas was great. I just love them! I was fist pumping during the whole performance. And of course Usher was a welcomed surprise. 2 thumps up!! But for me the best part of the weekend was all the celebs seen partying in Dallas. Check out the flicks below:

February Already?

So we are six days into a new month, seems like just yesterday was New Years. February is a short month, 28 days, but it packs a punch. What's so special about February? Well, today is Super Bowl Sunday, for American football fans it's a very big day! This year we have the Pittsburgh Steelers competing against the Green Bay Packers. The commercials are supposed to be bigger and better than years past, everyone looks forward to the annual Super Bowl parties, who sings the national anthem and the pre-show and half-time performances.
More importantly this is "Black History Month", a time to reflect on the past in order to really appreciate the freedoms we have today. When I think about all the historic icons like Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, Malcolm X, Marcus Garvey, Sojourner Truth and Jackie Robinson (just to name a few), I am proud of my people - where we came from and where we are today.
We also celebrate 2 major holidays Valentine's Day on the 14th and President's Day on the 21st, February is a busy month. (And for those of you that think tax season is also a holiday.....I am with you! Everyone who actually receives a return agrees.)
So in summary please take the time this month to learn about your past and enjoy your present!

I first heard this young artist last week on the Rickey Smiley Morning show on WEDR 99Jamz. They played a remix of Kanye West's song "Flashing Lights" that featured Durand AKA alcoholharmony. I really enjoyed his spin on a now "old" song. His voice is different that any R&B singer on the radio now. He is funky and soulful. After googling him I found his channel on Youtube and watched a few videos. I must say I am pleasantly surprised! He is truly a talented singer. When asked about his genre of music he only claims "freestyle soul" and states that he never wants to be put in the box of being one particular kind of singer/artist. He has 3 albums online and available for purchase. Support this up and coming artist, he is sure to make waves!

Russell Simmons will be in Miami tomorrow promoting his new book, "Super Rich: A Guide to Having it All". Mr. Simmons, born October 4, 1957, is a well respected business man who is most known for Def Jam Records, but is also the ex-husband of Kimora Lee Simmons and the brother of famous rapper turned minister, Joseph "Run" Simmons. He is the brains behind the "Rush" card, Phat Farm, Argyleculture & American Classics clothing lines as well as www.globalgrind.com. He has added author to his long list of accomplishments over the last few years, this will be his 3rd book. He released "Life and Def: Sex, Drugs, Money + God" in 2002 and "Do You! 12 Law to Access the Power in you to Achieve Happiness and Success" in 2008. The Mogul, who is called the "CEO of Hip-Hop" will be at the Books & Books location in Coral Gables this Wednesday at 8pm. I plan on getting a copy of this book. Who doesn't want to be "super rich"? I know I wouldn't mind!

New Year, New Budget!

With a new year comes a new list of resolutions on how "you" are going to make this year better than the last. One of my goals is to manage my finances better. So I've enlisted the help of Excel, coupons and Mint to help me with my task. How is Excel going to help me? Glad you asked. Excel is perfect for budgeting because you can keep track of your spending fairly easily with the help of a few formulas. For others who aren't so great with formulas - Excel also offers several different budgeting templates - no hard work required, just open and plug in your financial stats. Coupons are coupons, pretty straightforward just clip and use at your leisure.

And my final helper is Mint, personal finance software. Mint is "the best free way to manage your money" (www.mint.com) the site allows you to put all your accounts in one place SAFELY. It automatically categorizes your spending making budgeting a breeze. The site also offers alerts on your accounts and helpful graphs to further drive home your spending habits. It can also keep track of budgets and/or saving goals that you have set for yourself. My year is already off to a better start than years past. Everyone knows the first step in changing a habit is understanding your habit now, that way you can see where you are coming from and plan where you want to go. Take your financial future in your hands today!

Coupon Crazy!

Since the downturn in the economy many Americans have had to change the way they do many things including shopping. Whether it's shopping for clothes, shoes or even groceries - we have all tried to make a change for the better. One growing and already extremely popular trend is coupon clipping. You might be thinking- coupon clipping? Isn't that for old ladies? Not so at all! Coupon clipping is one of the easiest ways to save money without spending anything. You can get coupons for a multitude of products from your local Sunday paper or from printing online, FREE. Many retailers have a whole portion of their site dedicated to saving money. Target.com and coupons.com are two of my favorite sites to print coupons.

There is a television show "Extreme Couponing" on TLC and countless websites/blogs like thekrazycouponlady.com that cater to the avid and beginner couponer. The coupon lady's website is very informational she list deals and steals and has a large number of followers that comment to share stories of how they saved money on her site regularly. I just recently started couponing and it is definitely addicting, saving money is the ultimate high! I even introduced a co-worker to it and she has even surpassed me in the coupon craziness. My favorite guilty pleasure is Reality shows. I love the Real Housewives of everywhere...Beverly Hills, Atlanta, Orange County, New York and even New Jersey. Basketball wives is always juicy, Football wives are a hot mess and Brandy&RayJ are getting my attention too. But in January we will welcome back Chili and her craziness on Season 2 of "What Chili Wants". I can't wait! Based on the previews- THIS SHOULD BE GOOOOD!

Finally the new season of one of my all time favorite shows- The Game, premieres on BET January 11th. (Lord please don't let it be wack!) I really hope they are able to pull this off, because we have been waiting a while for this show to come back.

Looks like another cheater has been exposed! Martellus Bennett of the Dallas Cowboys has been put on full (frontal) blast by his "now" EX-girlfriend. Apparently Good ol Marty cant keep his thing in his pants so homegirl posted naked pics that he sent her on the internet. Wow! Of course I had to share....

Okay I love Terrell Owens and I love his show even more, but those of you who follow me on Twitter know I don't really "appreciate" the women he dates. Well T.O. must have been listening to me because he was pictured above with Model and Ex-Miss USA, Kenya Moore at the ESPYs last night. (Thank you baby Jesus for hearing my prayers!) If they are a couple- I wish them all the best. Whew! Thought he was a goner! *wink wink*
